Many are the articles that we have to get for our baby’s upbringing, but in this post we want to highlight the four essentials needed at birth. We could sum it up answering four questions.

One field in the baby care world stands out due to its rapid evolution: the child restraint system. In a brief period of time, there appeared the first approved carrycots, then groups 0 compatible with strolls, afterwards the first groups 0-1 both with regulation E-44 in its different versions, and nowadays groups 0 or 0-1 with regulation R-129, widely known as I-Size.
Although all the options, except the carrycot, comply with a basic level of safety, it is always recommended to choose the best version. 2 – Where will the baby sleep at home?
During the first months of life, a medium-sized easy-to-move-around piece is the best option to be placed next to our bed or elsewhere in the house. This piece usually consists of a Moses basket or bassinet, which tend to measure 80 x 50 cm and are designed with “co-sleeping” system, which allows seeing the baby from the parents’ bed.
There are plenty of options regarding this product’s fabrics, designand colour. In this case, the choice depends on the costumer’s preference, as the piece meets the required standard. Sometimes, depending on the home size and characteristics, we can consider a standard sized cot (120 x 60 cm) for co-sleeping in the parents’ bedroom
Using a baby nest as a bassinet is also possible during the first days of life of the newborn.
3 – Where will we bathe the baby?
The most comfortable option to bathe the baby is the baby bath and changing unit in the bathroom as a constant temperature is kept during all the process and water intake and drainage will be easy. Moreover, the changing table continues to be used as support after leaving the original baby bath.
If you are struggling with space, there are different options within the same bathroom and, in any case, we could bathe the baby in the bedroom using a baby bath unit with drawers. This option is even more useful if we lack space to keep clothes and other baby stuff.
4 – How can we take our baby for a stroll?
Taking our baby out is one of the most satisfying feelings. Althoughbaby carriers exist, we will leave this option for now and will focus onthe most common one: the baby stroller.

This choice is one of the most important, and we are sometimesinfluenced by other people’s experiences or simply personal taste. It is essential that costumers think about the stroller’s use depending on where they live (the amount of times they will have to fold and unfold it, which car it will be kept in, etc.), as we won’t use the stroller the same way if we live in the city centre and have a lift or if we live in the countryside where we will need the car to carry it.
